Automated AWS service tag application

Varonis is extending its automated data classification labeling capabilities to AWS. This integration enables you to create granular labeling policies that automatically apply service tags to sensitive AWS resources and data using Varonis’ industry-leading data classification capabilities.

You can apply service tags based on data sensitivity or create your own custom tags such as exposure tags. With Varonis, you can automatically enforce labeling policies, fix manual labeling gaps, and re-label files as your data changes, to help ensure downstream DLP controls are effective.

MDDR escalation contacts assignment

MDDR customers can now specify the contacts for the Varonis MDDR team to reach out to for escalated alerts requiring validation, information, or mitigation purposes. Define different contacts for various time ranges or assign the same contact to multiple time ranges to ensure the right personnel are contacted at the right time.

To assign escalation contacts, simply open the MDDR dashboard, click the “Contact” icon in the upper right to open the “Escalation Contacts” in your organization side pane and add the relevant contact information and hours for each contact.

AWS S3 server access log monitoring

Varonis now supports integrating with S3 server access logs to retrieve data events for buckets. This provides an alternative/complementary offering for monitoring data events in CloudTrail. This is a more cost-effective integration method that enables you to reduce cloud spend.

You can also configure your preferred monitoring mix based on account alerting requirements. For example, you could decide to monitor the production account in CloudTrail but use server access logs for other less sensitive accounts.

Public API Integration

Varonis now offers public-facing APIs that allow you to integrate Varonis with your business intelligence systems to send Varonis’ data-centric insights and reports for further analysis to streamline your business and security operations.
